Complex Commercial Systems

Still, compression refrigeration systems described were quite simple. Different conditions and requirements require cooling accessory add-on devices. Regulators of pressure, vibration, humidity eners, crankcase heaters, and make such a refrigeration systems more effective and safe. Fig. 3-22 illustrates a small commercial-type cooling system with the use of different accessories.

Starting from the evaporator in the top (warm), a study, a refrigerant evaporates (light blue). It flows back through the suction line of the motor-compressor. Suction line, then enters the evaporator pressure regulator. From there it leads to the suction line accumulator. Any liquid refrigerant, which can come from the evaporator will stay here and will evaporate. This prevents it from traffic jams, or the compressor inlet.

The pair then passes through the suction line filter-dehydrator. Filter-drier traps of any moisture or solid contaminants. Compressor, pressure regulator protects the compressor against excessively low pressure side.

Suction line vapor then enters the vibration damper. It is a flexible coupling on the low side between the motor-compressor and suction line. The sensor element for the motor-compressor of management also gives the suction line.

Intake valve (SSV) is located at the entrance to the lower side of the motor-compressor. Along with the service valve on the high side, this valve makes servicing the compressor motor is easy. A crankcase heater keeps the refrigerant from the liquefaction in the compressor motor in the cycle when the unit is in cold environments. From the high side service valve (HSV), compressed pair (red light) enters the oil separator. Oil, which is removed from the separator high-pressure refrigerant is returned to the compressor crankcase.

From the separator oil under high pressure steam enters the condenser. Capacitor has a head pressure. Head, if the pressure rises too high, he cut off the system. The service valve is placed on the line between the condenser and the liquid receiver. The liquid receiver tank for liquid refrigerant (dark red). Another service valve is located at the exit of the liquid receiver (LRSV). This allows you to remove the unit from the system or keep the refrigerant during servicing operations.

Line leaving the liquid receiver is equipped with vibration damper. Is a flexible tube ceases to carry the vibration of other parts of the system. As the liquid is moving, it passes through the filter-dehydrator, which helps keep the refrigerant clean and dry. Humidity and liquids indicator allows to visually indicates whether sufficient refrigerant flows. At the same time, its color development indicates the presence of moisture in the refrigerant.

Sometimes overheating the motor-compressor. This can happen when the suction gas temperature is too high. Liquid for normal valve allows light injections flow of the refrigerant in the low side of the system, so that the suction gas cooled immediately. Diversity with valves with manual control allows the liquid to travel in one of two evaporators. Refrigerant passes through the solenoid valve for top-evaporator. This allows you to automatically control the flow through the evaporator. Hence, the liquid refrigerant enters the expansion valve. Thermostatic expansion valve regulates the flow (deep blue) low-pressure liquid. String depends on the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant from the evaporator.

Second evaporator is equipped with electric defrost control device. When opened, it allows hot compressed steam to enter the evaporator. Steam comes back to the compressor, without passing through the expansion valve. This heats the evaporator quickly. Any frost accumulation will be melted quickly. In the hot-gas bypass solenoid valve is used to allow the hot refrigerant vapor to enter the suction line. This occurs if the suction line gets too cold, and may allow the liquid refrigerant to log into the compressor. This is a brief description of some of the accessories and their appointment may help in understanding the commercial systems, as described further in the text...
