Safety of operation

The value of production in the large refrigerated warehouse can be several times greater than the cost of the storage itself, and every effort should be made to maintain the refrigeration service at any time, even if the plant can be inoperative for examination, repair or correction. The principle of plant safety, which should be sufficient pieces of each item of equipment and they should be of sufficient capacity to undertake the required conditions for the product, regardless of any single item that can be stopped.

Conventional mechanisms can be summarized as follows:

  1. At least two compressors, any of which can store store at temperatures. It can run continuously, keep it.
  2. Two capacitor or condenser Assembly having two separate refrigerant circuits and permissions repair of one chain, while others work. If there is one Assembly with forced convection, there are at least two fans.
  3. All circulating pumps to be in two copies, with the replacement of valves.
  4. At least two evaporators to maintain conditions, if one does not work.
  5. Where two compressors and two capacitors installed as independent loops, ensure that the changeover valves so either the compressor can be either condenser or evaporator.
Before installing, the planned system should be analyzed from the point of view of possible component failures, to make sure it can work as required.

Commissioning of sea trials should include simulated trials of plant failure, and investigators should be aware of the failure drills to keep the plant running.
