Mesh filters. Lubrication

Inlet gas can contain particles of dirt inside the path, especially on a new system. Suction strainers or traps are provided to catch such dirt and be easily accessible for cleaning on large installations.

But all the fine compressors will have a strainer or filter in the lubricating oil circuit. Filters in the sump is usually self-purification slot of the drive type. Larger machines may have a fabric filter, than any other type, such as in the automotive practice. Piston compressors are wet-sump, having saver lubrication in small amounts, but push oil supply with gear or Crescent pumps at all. Sight glass will be installed on the correct working of the oil level and hand pump can be installed to permit the addition of oil without stopping or opening of the plant, Carter, being under the refrigerant gas pressure...
