Technical information Refrigerants CHILLERS WITH HFCs

CHILLERS HFC

R-22 is one of the most common alternative refrigerants in small and medium-sized Chillers. For more than 10 years, a wide range of non-chillers HCFC already available on the market. This includes coolers using HFCs, hydrocarbons and ammonia. These new chillers are often developed, has higher efficiency compared to older designs cooler. Chillers are used mainly in the centralized Air conditioning systems and cooling processes. For most chillers (except those with R-123) there are several options: either the transition to HFCs used in new systems or make a conversion to service blends.

Before making a decision to invest in the refurbishment is taken, the status and performance of the existing enterprises should be evaluated. State-of-the-art projects often have 20-40% less energy than 10 years of designs. In the new system, the additional cost for non-HCFC technologies is limited, and is significantly lower than in future upgrades. Continue installing R-22 equipment will increase the country's challenge to achieve the HCFC freeze in 2013.
