Prefixes and Decoding of Refrigerants
Different refrigerants (e.g., CFCs, utilities, HCFCs, HBFCs, HFCs, PFCs and halons) are numbered according to a system established several decades ago, and is now used all over the world. Although this may sound confusing, but it really provides a very complex information about molecular structure and is also easily distinguishes among different classes of substances. In practice, this has great significance for understanding prefixes refrigerants and their values, as well as decoding for them.
