Electric Defrosting

Electric defrosting is used in residential and small commercial applications where die Cabinet temperature is maintained below the 34F (2.8C) and frost accumulation on the surface of the heat exchanger with moderate to severe. Compressor and evaporator fans cycled off and the heating element voltage. As the air surrounding the surface of the coil is heated, frost and ice, and the condensate is collected in a heated frying pan. Hot Gas Defrosting

Hot gas defrosting is used in large commercial and industrial applications where the Cabinet temperature is maintained below 10 F (12.2C) and frost or ice die accumulates on the surface of the coil. Heated Air Defrosting

Water Thawing

Water thawing fast way to remove frost from the surface of the evaporator in the large industrial applications. In the beginning of the cycle defrost, compressor and evaporator fans cycled off and water solenoid valve is open. Water splashes on the coil, quickly clearing it from frost. This strategy becomes less viable option, as the Cabinet of the temperature falls below zero, because water can freeze on heat transfer surfaces under certain conditions.
