The main cooling cycle
Refrigeration is determined in its simplest form, as cooling by heat. In terms of heat transfer, cooling is the transfer of heat from the place where he didn't want the place where it is less controversial. Refrigerant isa liquid, which raises the heating and evaporation at low temperature and pressure, and rejects the heat of condensation at high temperature and pressure. Normal strategy in mechanical refrigeration first to get the heat to the coolant. Then refrigerant enters the place where the heat can be removed from it. Refrigerant makes this transfer of heat. For practical purposes, the refrigerant is a liquid, which raises the heating and evaporation at low temperature and pressure, and gives off heat of condensation at high temperature and pressure.
Most of the heat transfer in mechanical cooling system is because the refrigerant changes state. The liquid refrigerant passes through the evaporator, absorbs its latent heat of vaporization, and in the process of changing from liquid to vapor. The refrigerant gas passing through the condenser rejects its latent heat of vaporization, thus changing from a gas to a liquid. These cyclical changes in the state of the refrigerant from liquid to gas, and then out of the gas back to a liquid, is that heat moves to the right place.
