Technical information Industrial Capillary Tube

Capillary Tube

Capillary tube type of refrigerant management is the length of seamless pipes with small and precise inner diameter. He acts as a regular gas refrigerant. It is, as a rule, are equipped with fine filter or a filter-dehydrator, Which removes moisture and dirt from the refrigerant pipe at the entrance.

The amount of refrigerant in the system, should be carefully checked. All liquid refrigerant enters the low side during the off cycle as the pressure balance. Too much refrigerant will cause the frost back on the low side. This control must be used with thermostatic control engine.

Pressure decreases as the low flow of the fluid moving through the tube that limits the flow of fluid. The fluid starts to evaporate in the tube. This pair provides the formation suddenly pressure and differential temperature approximately in the last quarter of the length of the tube. Refrigerant finally cooled up to the temperature of the evaporator, and its pressure is reduced pressure in the evaporator.

This pair formation in the capillary tube is called a vapor lock.

Design capillary tube depends on four variables:

  • Length of the tube.
  • Inner diameter.
  • Tightness of pipes of the windings.
  • The temperature of the tube.
Atypical capillary tube refrigerant management is shown in Fig. 5-48. Most domestic refrigerators using cans management.

The capillary tubes of the refrigerant management has no moving parts. Therefore, it has several advantages. First, there are no parts to wear out or stick. Secondly, the equilibrium pressure in the system when the unit stops. This condition holds the minimum the load on the engine.

Capillary tube can be coiled for part of its length. It is usually attached to the suction line. This allows the suction line pair for cooling of liquid refrigerant in the capillary tube.

Recent projects of capillary tubes of the use of larger diameter and longer than the tube. Larger diameter pipes less likely to become plugged with dirt, ice and wax. These larger diameter of the capillaries, which are commonly used in air conditioning systems.
