Refrigerator Troubleshooting. Filter-drier

It is installed in the liquid line of the system after the receiver. Construction typically in the form of a tube, which contains coarse and fine mesh filters. These prevent foreign objects such as dirt, metal filings and carbon sludge circulating refrigerant. Tube also contains a drying agent or dessicant which will absorb any moisture in the refrigerant (see Fig. 89).

Burning land, specially designed to be installed in the liquid line and suction line system after substitution of hermetic or semi-hermetic piston compressors, in which the motor windings already burnt out. This type of filter-dehydrator has an additional opportunity to save acids that may be present in the oil residues involved in the parts of the system.
