RETURN AIR HEATING SYSTEMS

Return air are generally one of two types: return air duct or opening of the Plenum return air ("sandwich " cosmos"). (See Fig. 5.14.) In the supply air duct duct system is lined with insulation, which significantly reduces the noise level.

Open-air supply system eliminates the cost of return air returns or ducts and is extremely flexible. In a building with custom interior walls, much easier to change the location of the ceiling lattice than redirect the return channel system.
