Graphing heat

It is important to learn the schedule of heat and enthalpy, because graphing these elements will help you understand them better. Most importantly, it prepares you for using the pressure-enthalpy diagram for refrigerants, which will:
  1. To help you troubleshoot the refrigerant side of the mechanical refrigeration system.
  2. Help you see the function of each part of the mechanical refrigeration system and how they work together in the movement of heat.
  3. Help you predict the temperature and pressure, you should expect to find in various places within the system.
Pressure-enthalpy, or P-H, the schema will be used as a tool in several modules of this program.

We start from the charts, a reasonable process of heat transfer for 1 pound of water, as it was heated from 32to 212 FF. heat content, or enthalpy, water, abbreviated H, is placed horizontally in the graph. Water temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, is built vertically.

Enthalpy 32F (liquid) water-0 BTU/lb.

Thus, the point was placed on the chart where 0 BTU/lb of enthalpy and 32F satisfaction. DOT was also where 180 BTU/lb of enthalpy and 212F satisfaction. This point can be done, because we know that the heat added to the water as it went from 32to 212 FF 180 BTU. If enthalpy 32F water 0 BTU/pound of 212F water 180 BTU above, the enthalpy 212F water:

0 BTU/lb + 180 BTU/lb = 180 BTU/lb

Connecting two dots (pixels), a line is formed, which describes a reasonable process heat water as it is heated from 32to 212 FF. This is a sensible heating process, because the temperature of the fluid changed without changing the fluid for the state...
