Multi-split

Multi-split generic name for embedded systems, where two or more remote module to run from one condensing unit. Fluid condenser runs directly through the expansion device, and the resulting mixture is cold liquid and flash gas is distributed to each of the fan-coil units on a chain. On-off control a cold fluid in each room is effected by a solenoid valve within each indoor unit, controlled by a thermostat. The return of the gas-refrigerant passes through the suction traps and/or suction/liquid heat exchanger in order to ensure that UN-evaporated refrigerant evaporates before entering the compressor. With such a system, as in the forward and reverse pipelines refrigerant fan-coil must be isolated.

Any way to dump excess cooling capacity is required if part of the fan-coil units do not require refrigeration. Excess compressor capacity sometimes shed injecting hot gas directly from compressor in reverse.

Inverter speed control of the compressor to reduce to 40% of full speed or less. Some companies can operate at higher speeds than usual to cope with peak loads. Eight fan-coil units can be connected to each condensing unit and assigned amount can be nominally exceeds the capacity of the compressor, on the grounds that not everything will be cool at the same time...
