Continuous Gas-Supply System

Three different gases used as fuel for gas-refrigerator units. These fuels are discussed in more detail in Chapters 21 and 31. Heating the quality of each is given as follows:
  • Manufactured gas (500-600 BTU/ft3).
  • Natural gas (1000 1100 BTU/ft3).
  • Liquefied petroleum gas of low pressure (from 2500 to 3200 BTU/ft3).
The fuel most often used for absorption system refrigerators is natural or liquefied gas. Clean fuel such as gas, prevents the formation of carbon monoxide or carbon deposits in the combustion chamber. Clean fuel, less burners will need cleaning.

Gas refrigerators must be supplied with fuel under constant pressure. The burner shall be calculated on the type of gas used. In case burner complexity, make sure that you correctly burner installed. The gas must be filtered before entering the burner. It must be the pressure regulator provide constant, constant pressure on the burner. Fig. 17-13 diagram shows suitable gas connections. Before installing these refrigerators, it is important to know the local rules governing such installation.
