Technical information Industrial Adding Oil to System

Add Oil in System

Compressor that is too hot or too noisy, may not have enough oil. There are several ways to add refrigerant oil. Remember, oil and oil-transfer equipment must be clean and dry. The oil must have proper viscosity for compressor, refrigerant, and low-side tempera hire.
  • The fastest method is as follows: attach the tube equipped with a manual valve to the middle of the opening of the manifold. The ventilation hose. Then immerse it in a clean, dry container refrigerant and oil. Run the compressor. Create a vacuum on the low side, turning the suction valve. Oil will be retracted in the casing. It is important that some oil in a glass container leave them there. It's so filling the pipe is always submerged in oil. Otherwise, the air will be drawn into the system. Glass containers are used, so you can see how much oil has been added. Not more than 1/4 pint of oil should be added to smaller units.
  • Another way to add the oil in the system evacuate Carter, then equalize the pressure, remove the oil plug crankcase, and add the butter.

Replace oil, and connect it to evacuate the compressor.
  • Oil can also be forced into the system of oil production in the service of the cylinder Fust, Draw using a vacuum cylinder.) Then increase the pressure in the cylinder with refrigerant vapor through the manifold. Invert the cylinder. Using the low side of the comb, the oil can be forced into the compressor.
  • Special pumps are available for manual pump oil in the compressor. Tin can be done even against high low pressure side. Some compressor oil circulates around the system with refrigerant. Therefore, oil must be added to the refrigerant lines, compressor, if more than 30' long. (This includes both line suction and liquid.) Add about 3 FL. oz. oil for each of the 10' tube installed.
