The High Side Float

High side of the float refrigerant management, both on the low side of the float mechanism, but it is located in the high-pressure side.

When the compressor is running condensed refrigerant from the condenser flows directly to the high side of the float chamber. No liquid receiver is used. As the liquid refrigerant raising the level of float inside the camera opens the valve, allowing the liquid refrigerant flow into the evaporator where it is stored.

When the liquid level falls in the float chamber, float moves down. She closes the valve opens at the evaporator. Thus, the pressure difference between the high side and the low side is saved. On the high side float maintains a constant level of liquid refrigerant to the high-pressure side.

Floats are made of copper or steel. In sealed units, steel is usually used. Such units do not use liquid receiver miless float is inside it.

The high side float controls do not have as much trouble with butter binding as the low side of the float management. With increasing pressure, oil dissolves and circulates more readily in the liquid refrigerant.

The evaporator is used with the high side float control must be equipped with a special return oils or of oils are binding.

Float can be connected directly to the needle, or may work with needles lever. Fig. 5-47 shows float to work with the simple lever. The needle and the seats are made of resistant alloys such as stainless steel or with hard surface alloys.
