Automatic expansion valve - Bypass expansion valve

Technical information Industrial Automatic Expansion Valve Bypass

Automatic Extension Of The Bypass Valve

Many compressor units are designed to run with a low load (torque) condition, the low side and the high pressure side are equal (balanced). At equal pressures, allow the compressor to start without pressing against high pressure. Thus, the engine will require less torque. The capillary system of the balanced pressure during the off cycle.

Automatic expansion of the valve stem seal refrigerant hole during the off part of the cycle. To balance the pressure, opening designed refrigerant can pass through the valve. As a rule, V-shaped slot is in the valve seat. This is shown in Fig. 5-7. Bypassing, or drain holes are quite small. They shall not interfere in the operation of the valve when the compressor is running.

When using this type of expansion valve, the correct amount of refrigerant must be used. Output must have a battery. Otherwise, the liquid refrigerant may travel down the suction line. This can cause sweating, or freeze on the suction line. Also, dangerous liquid refrigerant slugging may occur in the compressor.
