Technical information Industrial CRANKCASE HEATER

THE CRANKCASE HEATER

The crankcase heater-resistive heater or mounts around the lower part of the body, or insert type that fits in well in the body, or bar type that attaches to the bottom of the crankcase. The functions of this component, to charge for compressor off cycle and the transfer of thermal energy in the sump. The reason for this is any liquid to boiling of refrigerant may migrate into the compressor. If the evaporator is higher than the compressor at the end of the cycle and stops the compressor, the liquid may fall, causing it to collect the pistons or in the crankcase of the compressor. At some cool days, the refrigerant can condense in the compressor if it is not used. The crankcase heater prevents the compressor from trying to compress the refrigerant liquid, thus, as a result of mechanical damage. Heater, as a rule, put through a relay that opens a circuit when the compressor is in operation. Some manufacturers leave crankcase heater power any time by associating it with a hand line compressor contactor. This can cause the compressor to become too hot working, thus opening the overload relay and stop of the compressor.
