For applications requiring low evaporating temperatures, such as ice cream hardening at -45C or storage of frozen products at a temperature of -35C, consequently, low pressure compressor suction, which means a very high total compression ratio. For practical and efficiency reasons of this can be achieved through:

double-stage piston compressor with intercooler;
a two-stage screw compressor system, preferably with intercooler;
single-stage screw compressor, preferably with economizer. These options are described below.
