Oil separation systems

Compressors for cooling pump a small amount of oil with the refrigerant. The installation must be designed to ensure that this oil circulates through the system and returns to the compressor. Oil log in components such as evaporators can greatly reduce their effectiveness and shortage of oil in the compressor will decrease its reliability and, ultimately, as a result of mechanical damage.

Some refrigerants, not oil transportation by the system securely, so necessary when using these refrigerants (or when there are serious differences in system load) for installation of oil separation in the discharge line after the compressor. Oil separator will remove most of the oil from the category of vapors and return it in the crankcase of the compressor.

Where compressors are installed in parallel (e.g. to meet a large load) oil system management is to ensure that the oil is returned only compressors who need it - failures and loss of productivity may occur if the crankcase of the compressor is full of oil, and also if there is too little. Each compressor is equipped with a valve, which determines the level of oil in the crankcase. As the level drops so the valve is opened, allowing the flow of oil from the reservoir to enter Carter to maintain optimum...
