Heat transfer
Heat will move from a hot body to the cold, and can do this using the following methods:
- Holding. Directly from one body to the other, or through a continuous mass
- Convection. With cooling fluid, moving between one and the other
- Radiation. Mainly via infrared waves (just as in the visible range, for example. solar radiation)which are independent from the contact or an intermediate fluid.
Through a solid material is expressed on the surface, thickness, and conductivity. For large flat surfaces, ignoring the heat near the edge:
