Room Absorption Refrigerators

The following paragraphs discuss some die more common procedures and problems refrigeration may arise while servicing the system to absorb. Basic electrical, control and maintenance can be achieved most technicians. However, the problems in the framework of the system to absorb should be solved through training specialist with the manufacturer.

When servicing gas-fired absorption refrigerators, make sure to supply gas to the proper pressure. Checking the gas pressure using water-filled pressure gauge, as shown in Fig. 17-36. Safety valve body has a manometer connection. The volume of gas supplied in the refrigerator can be checked on tlame size.

The duct should be clean to ensure good heat transfer. The brush should be used for purification of exhaust. Fins on ammonia capacitor must be cleaned periodically. This will ensure a good heat dissipation from these surfaces. If the call service indicates that the refrigerator is too cold, check the temperature control dial, It may be too cold. Evaporator unit temperature may be lower than that indicated by the temperature control dial setting.

Perhaps the most widespread service call will be "little " or " no cooling" Possible causes include overloaded Cabinet, incorrect temperature condensation, little or no heating generating unit to limit or disable gas supply and narrow dirty or flue. Gas and kerosene-gas chillers are equipped with a chimney. They direct the hot gases around and power units. Sometimes, the chimney can be limited because the refrigerator is too close to the wall. Chimney can also prevent objects blocking the opening, or drops into it. Chimneys should be clean to ensure the proper functioning of the refrigerator. After a period of operation, generator flue usually become covered with soot deposits. When this happens, the rapid transfer of heat from the gas flame generator impossible. This soot Deposit should be removed periodically. (Usually once or twice a month is enough.) Frequent cleaning also reduce gas consumption per unit.

When trimming generator smoke or soot from any surface of the generator, take care to prevent damage to the surface. Always place the paper or cloth under the refrigerator when cleaning chimneys. If the capacitor or sink " dirty " or lint-indoor, poor cooling will result. This is due to poor air circulation around these components. Napkins, brush or vacuum from these savings.

Temporarily unused absorption unit may not freeze. Ensure that the burner is lit. The air filled the gas pipeline; it may take several attempts to light the burner. To solve the problem, turn off the heat and let the system cooling. Then turn the device upside down several times to put the liquid in the relevant areas. Restart the unit with the lower costs of heat boiler (generator). If there is a leak, yellow Deposit will be collected at the place of leakage. If a leak occurs in the evaporator, the smell of ammonia, will be noticeable. Brimstone candle will produce white smoke on ammonia leak...
