Evaporator coil low float valve - Flooded evaporator control

Technical information Industrial Flooded Evaporator Float Control Valves

The Flooded Evaporator Float Valves

Float controls are used to modulate theflow refrigerant in the flooded evaporator applications. The main advantage of the flooded evaporator design is its greater power and efficiency of the evaporator. When flooded evaporator, the refrigerant fluid is present from the beginning of each evaporator circuit connection of the suction line. Coefficient of thermal conductivity flooded coil more similar size dry expansion evaporator because heat spends more rapidly through the liquid refrigerant into contact with evaporator tubes, than in pairs. Flooded evaporators are widely used in large liquid cooling applications. Float valves are used to meter the refrigerant in these applications. Because of their physical size and relatively large quantity of refrigerant required for flooded system, float valves control rarely employed in commercial and residential applications.

Float valve control consists of a hollow metal ball, cylinder, pan or other floating member, which moves up and down in response to changes in the level of liquid refrigerant in the float chamber.

Movement of the float and lever moves the needle valve Assembly to modulate refrigerant flow into the evaporator. The float chamber, in which fluid accumulates can be located on the die low - or high-pressure side of the system. When the camera is on the low-pressure side of the system, it is filled with the refrigerant low pressure and level measurement of liquid in the evaporator pressure. This type of metering device, called a low-pressure float valve. When the metering device is set so that it controls the level of high-pressure liquid refrigerant, die metering device called high pressure float valve control...
