Head-Pressure control Valve test and working pressure
Excessive leak testing or working pressure can damage these valves and reduce the life of the existing members. For leak detection, dry inert gas such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide can be added to an idle system to Supplement the pressure of the refrigerant. Remove cap and tighten the fixing screw with the appropriate key. Check manufacturerР‚s recommended pressures to make the adjustments.
Refrigerant charging procedures require sufficient refrigerant to be available to flood the condenser at the minimum expected ambient temperature. There must still be enough charge in the system for correct operation. Ashortage of the refrigerant will cause the hot gas to enter the liquid line and the expansion valve. Refrigeration stops.
The receiver must have sufficient capacity to hold at least all of the excess liquid refrigerant in the system. This is because such refrigerant will be returned to the receiver, and in cases when environmental conditions prevail. If the receiver was too small, the liquid refrigerant will be held back in the capacitor at high ambient conditions. Excessively high discharge pressures will act.
Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for charging system. Procedures may vary with different valve manufacturers.
