Cooling System Conditions

The following terms apply to the cooling tower system. Refrigeration range is the number of degrees Fahrenheit, through which water is cooled in the tower. This is the difference between the temperature of the hot water at the entrance to the tower and cold water temperature at the outlet of the tower. Approach the difference in degrees Fahrenheit between the temperature of the cold water outlet of the cooling tower and the wet-bulb temperature of the surrounding air. The heat load is the amount of heat "throw" the tower in Btu / hour (or per minute). It equals pounds of water distributed multiplied by cooling range.

Cooling tower pump head pressure required to raise the return hot water from a point level with the base of the tower to tower and make it through the distribution system. Drift small amount of water lost in the form of small drops retained by the air circulation. He is independent, and, moreover, the evaporation. Bleeding is continuous or intermittent spend a small fraction of recycled water to prevent the accumulation and concentration of scale-forming chemicals in the water. Makeup water is needed to replace the water that is lost to evaporation, drift and bleed.
