The composition of the heat flow
Heat gains or sensible, in an attempt to provoke an increase in air temperature, or latent, causing an increase in moisture content. The comfort air conditioning reasonable income are taken from the following sources:
- Solar radiation through the Windows, walls and roof.
- Transfer through the building envelope and natural infiltration of warm air from the outside.
- People.
- Electric lighting.
- Business machines, etc.
Latent heat of profit due to the presence of the occupiers and natural infiltration is more humid air from the street. In the case of industrial air-conditioning can be more sensible and latent heat revenues from processes is carried out.
All the above sources of heat profits are well studied, but a measure of uncertainty is introduced random nature of some of them, such as the presence of people and the way the power lights are turned on. The thermal inertia of the building structures is also a problem when calculating the sensible heat revenues from solar radiation. From this it follows that a precise determination of heat flow impossible. However, it is vital that the engineer must be able to calculate the heat flow with confidence and this can be done when the generally accepted methods of calculation should be supported by sound common sense.
