The formation of dew

With the onset of darkness, the earth, the heat loss by radiation passes continuation of falling of the temperature and the air in contact with the ground, also suffering from the drop in temperature, the heat transfer between the two taking place by convection. Eventually, the earth's temperature falls below the dew point and condensation. Although the rate of heat loss from the surface of a solid body about a permanent, depending on the fourth power of the absolute temperature of the surface, all solid objects do not fall in temperature at the same rate. Much heat is stored in the upper layers of the earth and heat flows out to the surface, to make a good radiation losses from him.

Thus, good conductors of heat in good thermal contact with the earth will the temperature drop at a rate much the same as the main surface of the earth's mass nearby. Poor conductors, or isolated objects, however, not be able to draw heat from the ground to make up its losses by radiation, and therefore their temperature will fall faster, and the dew is typically stored for the first time on such objects. Examples of these two classes is a stones that are good conductors and in intimate contact with the earth and herbs, which are poor conductors. ROSA, as a rule, the form on the grass before it makes on the rocks...
