Expansion Tanks

Multiple installations of temperature can lead to short cycle pressure-controlled capacitor. This can occur when opening and closing the two-temperature valves cause pressure fluctuations. Pressure is said to hesitate when it rises and falls more than once in an uncertain pattern.

The following conditions may cause a short cycle:

  • If two-temperature valve is closed and the condenser is cooled by the lowest temperature of the evaporator is enough to open the pressure control motor capacitor will stop.
  • If immediately after it stops, two temperature, valve which operates one of the warmer evaporators opens, low pressure will grow rapidly. Pressure is put on the condenser and, thus, the causes of short-cycle.
To resolve this trouble, surge tank or larger cylinder can be installed in the main just ahead on the compressor suction line. Expansion tank shown in Fig. 13-125 large enough to absorb the increased pressure. Thus, if the unit stops and two-temperature valve opens low pressure can increase quickly.
