Compression System Refrigerant Management
Modern refrigeration systems are automatic in operation. Accounting devices were developed to control the refrigerant flow to the evaporator. They also control the electric motor that drives the mechanism. Refrigerant controls can be divided into three main classes. The combination of these controls can also be used:
- Management based on the change of pressure.
- Control based on temperature changes.
- Management based on the volume or number of changes.
Automatic refrigerant and motor control are needed to maintain the temperature in the refrigerated space within the prescribed limits. Popular and temperature ranges include:
- To store fresh food, the temperature is usually stored in 35F 45CF (2C to 7C),
- For frozen food storage, the temperature is usually between -10F 0 andF (-23-18 C andC).
- For comfort cooling, the temperature generally ranges from 70F and 80F (21 C and 27C).
