Heat transfer

Heat will move from a hot body to the cold, and can do this using the following methods:

Holding. Directly from one body to the other, or through a continuous mass
Convection. With cooling fluid, moving between one and the other
Radiation. Mainly via infrared waves (just as in the visible range, for example. solar radiation)which are independent from the contact or an intermediate fluid.

Through a solid material is expressed on the surface, thickness, and conductivity. For large flat surfaces, ignoring the heat near the edge:
