Chemical industry
Processes in the chemical industry need to control the temperature of a reaction when heat is released. Where direct expansion of the refrigerant coils could be a threat, heat exchangers using chilled water or in brine busy. Coolers of this kind can be found in every sector of the chemical industry. Examples of refrigerating station for specialist cooling requirements in the chemical industry illustrated in Fig. 19.4 and 19.5 .
A plant for cooling R125 shown in Fig. 19.4 . R125 is an integral R134a, and when the UK manufacturer of refrigerants embarked on an extended considerable expansion of R134a production, the requirement for cooling R125 were necessary, as part of the process. The refrigerant is used for cooling R125-R410A, which is normally associated with air conditioning applications.
Large Saudi Arabia manufacturer of titanium dioxide was needed for the cooling of methanol as part of the process. This is a big factory was working on the street in the heat of the Arabian Desert, and also in the danger zone. Great Britain built to the refrigeration system, Fig. 19.5 . to cope with this severe environmental conditions. Two large screw compressors discharge in total oil separator then in direct expansion methanol shell and tube heat exchanger designed for use in hazardous areas, with due care and environmental heat and dust...
