Insulation

Pipelines and other components must be isolated after the safety pressure test, but, as a rule, long before the work of the plant, as it is very difficult to remove water and frost, as soon as it is formed. Only low-pressure pipes insulated, where he is not part of the evaporator, i.e. after the expansion valve where he can be outside the cooled space, and from the evaporator back to the compressor.

Isolation materials for pipelines and curved pressure can be obtained forms ready, so that they fit tightly to the surface. All surfaces must be completely dry before it is applied, even if the glue is water-based emulsion, water or other solvents must be given sufficient time to dry or install any outside packaging is used.

- Or air space within the isolation should be avoided, as this air will contain moisture that condenses and freeze leading to rapid deterioration of the insulation. An integral part of the insulation system-vapor-barrier that should be full and continuous over the externality (warm) surface. Application of thermal insulation materials is a specialist trade and justify careful supervision and inspection.

Much use is made of elastic foamed plastic, which can be obtained in tubular form for pipelines with diameter up to 114 mm in diameter, flat sheets of different thickness for sewing on the other pieces.
This material has a vapour tough outer shell, but should be sealed in all associations and ends. Manufacturers help advising users.....
