Piston compressors

Piston compressors are the most common type in use today. Suction vapor is compressed, moving in a tight cylinder. Suction and exhaust valves or just minx cane (for smaller compressors) or head ring (big machine). The bearings are lubricated refrigeration oils from the crankcase.

Piston compressors are available in a very wide range of sizes, from small, single cylinder type used in domestic refrigerators, eight-cylinder models used in industrial purposes (although the model as large as 24-cylinders are used in some very large industrial systems). On Fig. 12 shows in the context of semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors.
