What type of ammonia is r717? - Superheat table r717

Technical information Chillers Ammonia (R717 or NH3)

Ammonia (R717 or NH3)

Anhydrous ammonia is widely used as a refrigerant in industrial systems, especially in the chemical and dairy industry. Ammonia has a high latent heat and, consequently, less than the mass flow is required, which led to a slight reduction of energy consumption. Lubricating oils, being more dense than ammonia, can be easily removed from the lower points of the system. Air, being heavier than ammonia, can be easily cleaned up from the highest point in the system. All these properties contribute to the design of ammonia systems that are slightly more efficient quickly.

Ammoinia toxic in high concentrations. The occupational exposure limit of 25 ppm, when the smell is quite obvious. Most people can endure up to 250 ppm, some irritation and discomfort. At 3500 ppm ammonia quite lethal. 16% to 27%, ammonia-air micture can ignite with some difficulty. Ammonia attacks, copper, zinc, tin, calcium, and their alloys.

Remember

  • The refrigerant can affect the efficiency of the system by about 10%.
  • Relative

productivity and efficiency of the refrigerant depends on the type of compressor and operating conditions.
  • Zeotropic mixtures can give the advantage of disability and efficiency when used in the right direction, i.e., the advantage is taken in the evaporator temperature glide.
  • Too much or too little charging of the refrigerant may reduce the effectiveness.
  • Insufficient refrigerant is reduced wetted area of the evaporator, increases overheating, reduces the intake pressure, increases the temperature of the Elevator and reduces the efficiency.
  • Refrigerant contaminated air or other gases will affect the efficiency of the system.
