Packing and processing
Cold storage, packing must contain and protect the product, allowing the passage of cooling air to maintain even temperature. After the decision storage temperature was made, a key determinant of the size and format of data storage type and quantity of product, which will be held on for some time. The final draft will be based on these factors, in addition, under the influence of handling considerations, including packaging, pallets stacked height and weight. Grouping product in chill shops consider, where some products might become tainted by others.
This then leads to a choice of the system hardware design, and related materials handling equipment. Selecting the type(s) and size(s) forklift, influences the type of system Cabinet, rack layout, the layout of the building, the size and location of the freezer door and size of the marker (see Fig. 15.2) .
