Testing of complete units

Manufacturers of testing procedures for complex systems may include some of the following:
  • Safety test pressure and tightness tests should always be enabled (see also Section 11.3).
  • Rating test, from the representative of the block that forms the basis for the capacity and the application of leaflets.
  • The type of tests that the product is designed as will work properly, if applied within the required operating envelope, and a fail safe when subjected to some abnormal modes.
  • Rating tests on the share of production units, to ensure that standards are supported.
  • Function tested on all production units, to ensure proper operation of components.
  • Short test run in normal conditions, to test the reliability of the work, plus, perhaps, the approximate capacity check.
  • At the maximum operating conditions.
Factory testing procedures can be expensive, but much more efficient than performing the work in the field. Records will be kept of such tests and, in the case of larger units, the manufacturers will, if requested, provide a certified copy of the test hardware.
